Trail Sections

This page is structured to be expandable. Start with a few sections you know well, then add mileage, maps, and links over time.

How this is organized

Hikers plan better when the trail is broken into manageable chunks. Use these as “containers” for your future content: access points, mileage, elevation profile, and notes.

Simple approach: Build 6–10 anchor sections first, then refine as you collect better data.
Section Best for What to add next
Western Sections
Talladega-area starts
Long weekends, cooler-season trips Trailhead parking, water notes, mileage
Central Sections
Ridge walks + creek crossings
Overnights, section hikes Resupply options, campsites, reroutes
Eastern Sections
Toward Georgia connection
Multi-day pushes Shuttle logic, seasonal hazards
Piedmont Basecamp Loops
If you’re using Piedmont as a hub
Day hikes + recovery Parking, food, nearby trail connectors

Want this to be more “real” fast?

Add a GPX track link per section and a short “access + water + camps” note. That alone makes the site instantly useful to hikers.
